Senator Reid Continues To Fight For The Unemployed

Posted by Sen. Reid's Staff  on 12/1/2010 - 3:21 PM

Senator Reid understands that Nevadans are going through difficult times and he is determined to fight for the families that rely on this assistance as they continue to look for work. Senator Reid recognizes that extending this insurance for the Nevadans who truly need it will help boost our economy and help us protect and create jobs across the state.  Unfortunately, Senate Republicans seem to be more focused on giving tax breaks to the wealthiest two percent of Americans than helping unemployed Nevadans who are struggling to make ends meet.

Economists and small business associations around the country know that preserving these unemployment benefits would create or save hundreds of thousands of jobs and immediately pump money into our economy.  While his Republican colleagues refuse to do anything but assist the wealthy and give tax breaks to CEOs who ship American jobs overseas, Sen. Reid will continue fighting for middle class families and small businesses during these trying times.
