Dear Fellow Nevadans:
In America today, concerns about our health care system are at the forefront of the national consciousness. As a fellow Nevadan, and the Senate Majority Leader, I know that millions like you are struggling with the reality of America’s health care crisis.
In addition, I understand what a devastating impact the economic downturn has had on Nevadans. Our economy is in a tailspin and it has cost Americans their jobs. Every day Nevadans are battling the crushing costs of health care that threaten their financial security, as well as their physical well-being.
The time for meaningful health care reform is now. We cannot stand by any longer while children, seniors, and working families suffer because they are unable to afford necessary medical care, their prescription medication, or a life saving treatment for a chronic illness.
If you are satisfied with your current coverage, keep it. But please join our fight to provide more comprehensive, more affordable plans for those who may not have access to desperately needed care.
Enough is enough. Let’s work together to solve the health care crisis. This is an unprecedented opportunity for members of Congress, the Administration, the private sector, and other stakeholders to come together for the benefit of the American people. It is my hope that the solutions we develop and enact will ensure quality, affordable health care coverage for all Americans – regardless of their age, income, employment, or health status.
If you are in agreement, please sign my petition, and add your voice to the millions who are already demanding that we solve America’s health care crisis now.
Sincerely,
HARRY REID
United States Senator for Nevada
