- Senator Reid has released a new report entitled “Playing to Win in Clean Energy.” The report details how Nevada’s renewable energy economy has been aided by federal legislation focused on spurring investment in clean energy and the reform of policies that have accelerated clean energy projects on federal lands. The report also illustrates the significant roles federal policies are playing in the commercial deployment of Nevada’s clean energy resources and future steps that would most effectively drive immediate investment in Nevada’s clean energy future. - Senator Reid spoke on the Senate floor about Bill Raggio, his friend and Nevada's longest-serving state senator. Reid said that Bill was a Republican who believed government should be “lean but not mean," and that he was never afraid to work with Democratic members, even though he was Republican Leader.
Raggio left a mark on Nevada politics that could never be erased, and his powerful political voice and his true, personal friendship will be missed, Reid said.

- The office of Senator Reid will host a home foreclosure prevention clinic in Las Vegas at Financial Guidance Center (formerly Consumer Credit Counseling Services) on Saturday, February 11th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Struggling homeowners with a Bank of America or Wells Fargo loan in Nevada who attend the clinic will have the opportunity to sit down with a HUD-approved housing counselor and a representative from Bank of America or Wells Fargo to discuss options that may be available to help them avoid foreclosure.

Reid first introduced this legislation in 2009 before reintroducing it in March of 2011. This law ensures that clean, renewable electricity from Hoover Dam will continue to power Nevada through 2067.
