Washington, D.C. -- Nevada Senator Harry Reid today hailed the passage of the Travel Promotion Act.  This bill, which follows the model of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, establishes a public-private partnership to promote the United States as a top international travel destination and provide information on U.S. security and entry policies.  Because of Reid’s collaboration with his colleagues in the Senate and House of Representatives, the Travel Promotion Act will now be sent to President Obama to be signed into law.
 
“This is an incredibly important bill for Nevada and the nation.  Tourism is among the top industries in every state and it is the leading industry in Nevada,” Reid said. “This bill is another jobs bill for Nevada. By following the model of the LVCVA, the United States can promote exciting destinations like Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe, bring more visitors to our country, and create more jobs in travel, tourism and the service industry.”
