Nevada Senator Harry Reid today met with Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan to urge them to do more to fight the housing crisis in Nevada. Reid believes the banks need to increase lending, help Nevadans modify their mortgages and accelerate the short sale process. He also told Donovan that HUD needs to find more ways to help Nevadans fight foreclosures, including opening a HUD district field office in Nevada with the staffing and resources necessary to help Nevadans keep their homes.
