Nevada Senator Harry Reid yesterday led the U.S. Senate in passing a  vital funding bill for Nevada’s troops.  "The Supplemental Appropriations Bill takes care of our troops," said Reid.  It will help ensure that the more than 800 Nevada servicemen and women currently deployed have the tools they need to do their jobs and keep us safe. The bill also addresses the H1N1 flu outbreak.  It secures the president’s request of $1.5 billion for pandemic preparedness and response.  Funds for military construction, border security, aircraft, weapons, vehicles and force protection are also part of the new legislation.
