Nevada Senator Harry Reid will meet Tuesday with Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama’s nominee to the United States Supreme Court. Sotomayor is an accomplished and qualified nominee whose real-world experience and understanding of the law will serve Nevadans well. "I really admire the judge," said Reid. "We want someone on the bench that understands the problems of real people -- and she does without question."

Upon confirmation by the Senate, Judge Sotomayor would fill the seat on the Supreme Court soon to be vacated by Justice David Souter.

Sonia Sotomayor is currently a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She would be the first hispanic and the third woman to sit on the nation's highest court.
