Nevada Senator Harry Reid spoke today with the presidents of the Las Vegas Urban and Latin Chambers of Commerce, and women's business groups, about the measures the Senate has enacted to help minority owned businesses in the state. Because minorities suffer from higher rates of unemployment, Reid has taken action to help. "I've worked hard to pass legislation this year that provides tax credits to small businesses so that they can hire more workers and purchase much-needed goods," said Reid. "I'm determined to lead the Senate in passing more bills this year that positively impact consumers and business owners." As Nevadans continue to look for jobs, Reid is focused on working with Chambers of Commerce to help secure the tax credits and loan programs that minority-owned small businesses rely on to grow and hire more workers.
