Nevada Senator Harry Reid today discussed the approval of plans to build a transmission line connecting renewable energy resources in northern and southern Nevada. "Today's news means one thing -- jobs," said Reid. "The construction of the transmission line will bring 400 jobs for Nevadans, in addition to the untold number of jobs that will be created as clean energy power plants are built to tie into the line." This project was made possible through more than $3 billion Reid included in the Recovery Act specifically to invest in transmission lines for renewable energy in the West.
