Nurses deliver scrubs to Washington as a sign of support for reform

The Partnership was in Washington to deliver scrubs representing the support of health care workers for reform.

Washington, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid today met with Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and nurses, doctors, and health insurance providers representing Partnership for Quality Care. The Partnership for Quality Care collected 10,000 signed medical scrubs and is delivering many of them to lawmakers to show the support of health care works for reform. Donnetta Miller, a nurse from University Medical Center in Las Vegas presented Reid with a set of scrubs.
 
“Attached to these scrubs are letters that catalog your struggles with our broken system, “said Reid. The stories they bear are particularly instructive because of the messengers who bring them—workers on the front lines of caring for our loved ones and nursing them back to good health. Congress is hearing these stories. The American people hear them. That’s why as we stand together at this moment as Congress is working to put together a proposal to bring historic, transformative reform to our health insurance system.”
