Developing our clean energy economy in Nevada is so important that I recently announced that, for the fourth consecutive year, I’ll be hosting the National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas. This year’s Summit will focus on the future of energy and will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at Aria Resort and Casino at CityCenter. We’re bringing national leaders to southern Nevada to illustrate and to continue the dialogue on the great benefits to consumers and the nation of implementing forward-thinking clean energy policies.
Nevada is no stranger to clean energy. In fact, Nevada’s oldest clean energy project – Hoover Dam – provided jobs for thousands of Nevadans during tough economic times as it was being built more than 80 years ago. Today, in 2011, clean energy projects are once again creating jobs and helping our economy get back on the right track. I look forward to a robust discussion this month as we work to achieve the ambitious clean energy goals we’ve set for Nevada. |
