Reid Meets With Las Vegas Students From Arbor View High School

May 27, 2011

Washington, DC -- Nevada Senator Harry Reid this week met with students from Arbor View High School in his Washington, D.C. office. Eight students and their teacher from the Clark County public high school traveled to the nation’s capital to learn the lessons of history and government firsthand.
“I'm glad I had the opportunity to sit down with these bright young students from Arbor View High School in Las Vegas,” Reid said. “These impressive students are highly engaged on the issues affecting their education and I encouraged them to remain actively involved. With all the challenges facing Nevada’s education system, we all must work together to ensure our students have the resources and tools they need to compete in a 21st century economy.”
Arbor View High School opened in 2005 and today serves nearly 2,700 students in grades nine through twelve. The high school offers a college preparatory curriculum and is proud of its parental involvement through parent group meetings and online tools. In addition, students participate in an array of dynamic extra-curricular opportunities like student government, journalism, band among other clubs and sports.
