Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today made the following statement regarding improvements to recreation in the Red Rock Canyon area:

"I appreciate the Bureau of Land Management hosting today's meeting to discuss their planning efforts related to the construction of a bike and multi-use path through the Red Rock Canyon area. After hearing from local bicycle groups regarding their very serious safety concerns about riding on SR 159, I became a strong supporter of this project. I look forward to its construction and completion which will bring new, safe ways for the people of southern Nevada to experience and enjoy one of our state's greatest natural treasures."
