Washington, DC — Nevada Senator Harry Reid today released the following statement upon learning about the fire at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas:

“I want to extend my thanks to the brave firefighters who put their lives on the line to put out this terrible fire and protect the lives of the hotel’s guests and employees. I also appreciate all the first responders, including crews from Nellis Air Force Base, who were also quick to respond. My office stands ready to assist in any way necessary as we wait to learn the cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage.”
