Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid made the following statement today following oral argument regarding the landmark case of McDonald v. Chicago:

“Today the U.S. Supreme Court heard powerful arguments that the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution applies to all Americans.  I was proud to be a co-signer of the historic bipartisan congressional amicus brief in McDonald, which argues that the framers of the 14th Amendment took a broad view of Second Amendment rights.”
