Reid Statement on Oral Arguments in Landmark Supreme Court Case on 2nd Amendment

March 2, 2010

Washington, D.C.Nevada Senator Harry Reid made the following statement today following oral argument regarding the landmark case of McDonald v. Chicago:

“Today the U.S. Supreme Court heard powerful arguments that the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution applies to all Americans.  I was proud to be a co-signer of the historic bipartisan congressional amicus brief in McDonald, which argues that the framers of the 14th Amendment took a broad view of Second Amendment rights.”
