Washington, D.C.- Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement after Dwight Jones announced his resignation as Superintendent of Clark County Schools:

“Dwight came to Nevada determined to improve the lives of young people and he provided outstanding leadership for the students, teachers, and administrators across Clark County. During his tenure, Dwight worked vigorously to steer the school district through challenging economic times and deep state budget cuts in education. It is unfortunate that Nevada continues to lose leaders of Dwight’s caliber because of lack of support. I thank him for his dedication to our community and wish him well as he spends time with his family.”
