Nevada Senator Harry Reid met with Mark Bassett, Executive Director of the Nevada Northern Railway.

 Washington, D.C. - Nevada Senator Harry Reid met Thursday with Mark Bassett, Executive Director of the Nevada Northern Railway to discuss developments of short line railroads in Nevada and the success of the Freight Rail.

“Rail transportation is essential to Nevada’s economy and I am committed to ensuring that we develop this important infrastructure,” said Reid. “I enjoyed discussing the Nevada Northern Railway’s operations and its importance to Ely. Tax credits for infrastructure maintenance ensure that railroads like the Nevada Northern Railway can invest in their rail lines and grow in the future.”
