Washington, D.C.- Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement after Dr. Allison M. Macfarlane was re-nominated to continue serving as the Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC):

“Allison Macfarlane has served in her post at the NRC with distinction and I am pleased she has been re-nominated to continue her leadership role. Chairman Macfarlane is deeply committed to keeping Americans safe and secure from harmful radioactive material and waste. She has demonstrated her capability and dedication in her current role and through her previous service on the Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future. I look forward to a swift confirmation of Chairman Macfarlane for a full term at the NRC.”
