Senator seeks to help Nevadans make the most of more than $1.5 billion in stimulus funding dedicated to Silver State

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced today he will host a seminar designed to help Nevadans take advantage of more than $1.5 billion in stimulus funding he acquired for the state in the recently passed economic recovery package. The seminar will be held Thursday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Officials from 40 federal and state agencies are invited to attend the event, and representatives from Reid’s staff will also be on hand to help answer questions about how to apply for and acquire money set aside for the Silver State in the package. Reid also issued recently a guide to navigating the economic recovery funding that can be viewed at http://reid.senate.gov/issues/upload/reid_arra_guide.pdf.

“We want to make it as simple and straightforward as possible for every Nevadan to have the opportunity to take part in this money,” Reid said. “There are hundreds of programs included in the economic recovery package, and this seminar will make it easier to get the funding for them into the hands of those who need it quicker and more efficiently.”
