Las Vegas, NV – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced a guaranteed loan of $1.9 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for “Las Posadas” shopping center in Boulder City. The loan from the Department of Agriculture will allow the owners of the retail center to complete necessary property improvements and remain in the Boulder City community. These improvements will allow for the opening of three new small businesses, each of which is expected to hire at least one new worker at well-paying wages. That is in addition to the jobs that will be created to make the improvements to the retail center. The recovery funds will be lent to the owners through Nevada Commerce Bank. “Small businesses need this financial help and the Recovery Act is once again helping them expand and create quality jobs for Nevadans,” Reid said. “With this loan, businesses at ‘Las Posada’ shopping center will be able to stay in Boulder City and stimulate the economy as we continue to recover.” ###
