Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement regarding the visit of David
Kappos, UnderSecretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of
the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), to the University of Nevada, Reno this
morning:
“I’m
pleased that Director Kappos accepted my invitation to come to Northern Nevada
to speak to its independent inventor and small innovator community,” Reid
said. “Innovation is an important driver for the economy of the United
States and Nevada. I’m glad Nevada's innovators have had a chance to hear about
the PTO's efforts to reach out to the small and independent inventor community
and to express their thoughts and concerns to the Director of the PTO." ###
