April 12, 2012 Washington, D.C. - Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced two grants totaling $9,358,128 which will support HIV services in Nevada. The first, a grant for $8,436,894 will go to the Nevada Department of Human Resources, while the second, a grant for $921,234 will go to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. "Providing the highest quality care for Nevadans living with HIV is a critical health priority," said Reid. "I'm pleased that the Nevada Department of Human Resources and University Medical Center of Southern Nevada will have the resources necessary to strengthen their HIV services." The grants come from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and are part of the Ryan White grants program which support organizations that deliver HIV/AIDS care and services and helps them strengthen primary health care services for people living with HIV or who are at risk of infection. ###
