April 13, 2010 Washington, DC – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today made the following statement on the news that Las Vegas has been selected as the host city for the 2011 Global Travel & Tourism Summit. “As the home to the world’s best hotels, shopping, restaurants and entertainment, Las Vegas is the perfect choice to host next year’s global travel summit,” Reid said. “Thanks in part to the Travel Promotion Act, Las Vegas is poised to continue its standing as a top international tourist destination. I commend the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on their vote to invest in this event and offer my support to ensure its success.”
