Reid Announces Free Admission Week For Nevada’s National Parks

April 14, 2010

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced today that Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Great Basin National Park and Death Valley National Park will not charge for admission during National Park Week.

“Some of the most awe-inspiring national parks in the country are right here in Nevada,” said Reid. “I encourage all Nevadans to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature and healthy outdoor activities with family and friends.”

Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Death Valley National Parks normally charge entrance fees, but will provide free access to the public April 17th – 25th .  National Park Week in Nevada will also include family friendly activities and special offers on tours, lodging, concessions, and souvenirs.  Nevada’s Great Basin National Park, created by Senator Reid in 1986, is open to the public with no entrance fee year-round.
