Reid Seminar Helps Nevadans Take Advantage Of Economic Recovery Funds

More than 1,400 Nevadans participate in workshops with federal, state, and local agencies

April 16, 2009

Las Vegas, NV—Senator Harry Reid’s office hosted a seminar to help Nevada’s community groups, governmental organizations, non- profits, and businesses make the most of the more than $1.5 billion in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. More than 1,400 attendees participated in workshops geared towards service providers, workers, businesses, infrastructure, public works, and energy sector.

“I appreciate the representatives from state and federal agencies for taking the time to talk to Nevadans about how to take advantage of this badly-needed recovery funding,” Reid said. “Nevada is clearly suffering as a result of this economic crisis. I hope this was helpful in answering the questions people had about how the funding will be distributed so our state will continue to receive this money as quickly as possible.”
