 WASHINGTON, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement after the Senate approved the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank:

“Reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank is critically important. Last year the Bank supported almost 300,000 jobs in nearly 2,600 communities across America. The Bank helps American companies compete in overseas markets, and spurs job growth here at home. That’s why labor groups, manufacturers and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce all supported its reauthorization.

“This bill should have never turned into a partisan fight. As we move forward on common-sense measures to strengthen our recovery, I hope Republicans will put our nation’s economic health ahead of their partisan political goals.”
