Washington, D.C.- Nevada Senator Harry Reid today introduced legislation to create the Gold Butte National Conservation Area in Clark County.
“Gold Butte is Nevada’s piece of the Grand Canyon. It is home to an amazing array of ancient Native American petroglyphs, historic mine sites, wild sandstone formations and critical wildlife habitat. As more and more people discover this remarkable place, we must protect these resources for future generations while continuing to allow recreational opportunities we enjoy today. I look forward to continuing to work with Nevadans and the delegation to improve this proposal through the legislative process.”
