Federal grant funds will help minority communities in Clark County June 10, 2008 Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced a significant grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to increase testing for HIV in minority communities in Clark County. “We know many Nevadans struggle to afford the soaring costs of health care, especially in this difficult economic period,” Reid said. “Testing is so important when it comes to the prevention and treatment of HIV. This money will go a long way toward helping those who need assistance the most in diagnosing and then treating this terrible illness.”
