June 15, 2011

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid is pleased to announce his legislation, the Hoover Power Allocation Act, passed out of the House Committee on Natural Resources this morning. Senator Reid introduced this legislation in March of this year in the Senate. The bill ensures that clean, renewable electricity from Hoover Dam continues to power Nevada.

“I have worked for years to ensure Nevada continues to benefit from the clean energy produced at the Hoover Dam and today’s action continues the momentum from the last Congress,” said Reid. “The Hoover Dam project is good for our economy and good for our environment. I am proud to lead our state’s delegation to make certain the 29 million people who benefit from this reliable source of energy continue to do so for years to come.”
