Washington, D.C. —Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced $5.2 million to help victims of crime, to prevent underage drinking and to combat juvenile delinquency. The Department of Justice grants will go to four programs that are administered by the Nevada Division of Child and Family Services; funds are awarded to local community-based organizations. “These grants will help victims of crimes in Nevada stabilize their lives and help provide a safe and secure environment,” Reid said. “They will also assist children who have gone off on the wrong track and help them turn around their lives. I look forward to these funds being implemented as efficiently and effectively as possible.” ###
