July 20, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today following the announcement by U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu of more than $5.5 million dollars to explore new technologies aimed at reducing consumer’s energy bills.

“This is an important clean energy research investment in Southern Nevada that will accelerate development of new technologies for homeowners that want to have more control over their energy costs.  Improving consumer demand response options can save on energy bills and reduce the need for expensive and polluting power plants,” Reid said.
