Reno, NV—The office of Nevada Senator Harry Reid will be hosting a homeowner assistance workshop in Reno at the Washoe County Senior Services Center on Saturday, August 25, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Homeowners in Nevada will have the opportunity to sit down with Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved housing counselors, bank and Hardest Hit Fund representatives to discuss options to avoid foreclosure. This is the second homeowner assistance workshop that Senator Reid has hosted in Northern Nevada this year.

Those interested in attending the workshop should RSVP to Senator Reid’s Reno office at rsvp_foreclosure@reid.senate.gov and bring the following documents to the workshop:

Proof of income:

  • Copies of pay stubs for the immediate past two months or Social Security benefits letter
  • If self-employed, most recent Profit and Loss Statement and last year’s tax returns with all schedules
  • If unemployed, a copy of unemployment insurance letter

Mortgage information:

  • Most recent mortgage statement(s) for all home loans

Other relevant documents:

  • Copies of bank statements for the immediate past two months
  • Most recent utility bills or other proof of occupancy
  • Tax returns for 2009 and 2010 and an IRS 4506T form to retrieve tax returns for previous  
  • Letter explaining the hardship you are currently experiencing
