Reid, Ensign Announce More Than $1 Million Headed To Nevada Airports

Funds will create jobs at airports across the state while upgrading facilities and planning for future growth

September 9, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Nevada Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign today announced more than one million dollars from the Federal Aviation Administration for projects at Boulder City Airport, Elko Regional Airport, Beatty Airport, Eureka Airport, and the town of Pahrump.

“This is important funding that will create jobs at four different Nevada airports, as well as bringing us closer to breaking ground in the town of Pahrump” Reid said. “Nevada’s aviation needs are growing, and I’m pleased that we’re investing the dollars necessary to strengthen the quality of our air travel.”

“These airports are sorely in need of these funds and these grants will allow them to make the necessary improvements.  As we focus on creating jobs for Nevadans it’s grants like these that make those jobs possible,” Sen. Ensign said.
