Washington, D.C. — Nevada Senator Harry Reid met with Commander Colonel John Montgomery and Vice Commander Yvonne Gresnick of the 98th Range Wing at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

The 98th Range Wing provides command and control of the 3 million acre Nevada Test and Training Range. It also provides support for test and training programs that have a direct effect on the war-fighting capabilities of the Air Force.

Senator Reid recently secured $3.5 million in funding for mission-essential airfield operations equipment as well as $3 million for incoming threat-simulating equipment to better train our pilots. Both were included in the Fiscal Year 2010 Defense Appropriations Act, currently in conference.
