Senator Harry Reid meets Alan Perazzo, dairy producer- member from Fallon, Nevada

Washington, D.C.— Nevada Senator Harry Reid met with Alan Perazzo, a dairy producer from Fallon, Nevada. Perazzo is a producer- member of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), one of the largest farm cooperatives in the country.
 
Dairy farmers in Nevada have been impacted by historically low milk prices over the past year. In September, Senator Reid supported an amendment to was added to annual  Agriculture Appropriations bill that provided $350 million in direct support payments and dairy commodity purchases to help will help  farmers. The Department of Agriculture announced today that these payments are going out to farmers across the country and the state. Senator Reid continues to work with dairy farmers like Perazzo to identify long-term solutions for Nevada’s dairy industry.
