Reid Announces More Than One Million Headed To Nevada For Medical Research

Funds to focus on cancer, HIV

September 16, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced more than $1 million in economic recovery funding for medical research. The funds are headed to the University of Nevada Las Vegas, University of Nevada Reno, and the Nevada Cancer Institute.

“This funding will retain some of the top minds in our state and allow them to continue cutting edge research,” Reid said.  “Through the work of these Nevada researchers we will better understand the human body and some of our most challenging health issues, and hopefully, work toward preventing the spread of HIV and cancer.”
