Reid Statement on National POW/MIA Recognition Day

September 18, 2009

Washington, D.C.Nevada Senator Harry Reid today released the following statement in recognition of prisoners of war and those missing in action.

“As our nation’s men and women in uniform continue to fight two wars to protect our freedom, we pause to remember those taken as prisoners of war and missing in action.  These brave service members have lived the nightmare we seek to avoid, with many never seeing their family, friends or home soil again.  But even in our darkest hour, the spirit of Nevada and this great nation remains unbreakable because of their sacrifice.  My thoughts and prayers go out to them, their families and those who served with them.  You are not forgotten.”
