Reid Ensign Announce More Than $5.4 Million Headed To Nevada For Buses, Bus Facilities

September 22, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Nevada Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign today announced more than $5.4 million in funds from the U.S. Department of Transportation to  buy replacement buses in the Clark County and Lake Tahoe area as well as improvements to transit operations services throughout Clark County.

“This money will create jobs in Nevada and improve public transportation across the state,” Reid said. “I’m pleased that our transit facilities will be receiving this much needed upgrade.”

“It’s important that we work to rebuild the economy in Nevada to create jobs, while improving our area,” said Ensign.  “Public transportation is a wonderful alternative to the environmental damage caused by too many cars on our roads.  Improving our public transit system will help to save money for Nevada families that are struggling with their bills and will help to improve the air over our beautiful state.”
