Reid Announces $10 Million Headed To Clark County For Affordable Housing Job Creation

New homes to be built, upgrades for existing units

September 23, 2009

Washington, D.C. — Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced $10 million in economic recovery funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is headed to Clark County for affordable housing. The funds will go towards building new homes or upgrading existing units.

“When we talk about affordable housing construction, or upgrading existing homes, we’re talking about jobs for Nevada” Reid said. “For every door we build, every ceiling fan we install, every roof we lay down, it takes people putting in an honest day’s work at a fair wage.  This is the very essence of what the economic recovery package is about: creating jobs and helping those in need.”
