Nevada Senator Harry Reid and Brigadier General Russell Handy, commander of the 57th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base and members of the 57th Wing. Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today met with Brigadier General Russell Handy, Commander of the 57th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base. The 57th Wing is the most diverse wing in the Air Force. It provides advanced combat training to world-wide combat air forces and showcases aerospace power to the world while overseeing the dynamic and challenging flying operations at Nellis AFB. The wing has four groups: 57th Operations Group, 57th Adversary Tactics Group, 57th Maintenance Group, and the USAF Weapons School. The Thunderbirds and the USAF Advanced Maintenance and Munitions Officer School also report directly to the 57th Wing commander. General Handy was accompanied by Chief Master Sergeant Heinzen, Sergeant Christy Fradette and Senior Airman Carlos Orozo of the 57th Wing.
