Reid Announces $6 Million For Clean Energy Job Training

Economic recovery funding will be put to use training thousands of Nevada workers

January 20, 2010

Washington, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced $6 million in economic recovery funding is headed to Nevada to train workers for clean energy jobs. The money will create a network of education, training and support services to help Nevadans gain employment in this growing industry that will create thousands of jobs and diversify our state’s economy.

“At a time when we are working to create jobs and strengthen Nevada’s economy, the timing of this funding couldn’t be better,” Reid said. “Nevadans will now have the opportunity to learn the skills they need to work at good paying jobs that can’t be outsourced in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy.”
