Reid Meets With Nevada PEP (Parents Encouraging Parents)

Nevada Senator Harry Reid meets with representatives of Nevada PEP (Parents Encouraging Parents) to discuss ways to support parents of children with disabilities.

Washington, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid welcomed the director and board members from Nevada PEP to discuss the importance of providing support for Nevada families who have children with disabilities.  The group talked about ways to better inform parents and to aid children with disabilities in the home, classroom and community, as well as the need for training and information for parents of children with disabilities and the professionals who work with these children.

“Structure and compassion are important when raising a child with or without disabilities,” said Reid. “As a community, we must provide children with disabilities ample resources and opportunities to grow and develop and support their parents and teachers.”
