Reid Statement On Nevada’s Plan To Spend Transportation Funds From Recovery Act

February 3, 2010

Washington, DC – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today made the following statement on the news that the Nevada Department of Transportation has obligated the full $201 million it received through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

“I applaud the State of Nevada and the Nevada Department of Transportation for completing its plan to spend the full amount of economic recovery funds for transportation projects we secured for the state. We passed the economic recovery act to help stabilize the economy and provide funding for projects that will create jobs for Nevadans. I urge the Governor to do everything in his power to ensure that this plan and the spending of these funds is carried out quickly so we can get Nevadans working again as soon as possible.”
