February 16, 2010 Las Vegas, NV – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced that two rural Nevada businesses received loan guarantees through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to help them stimulate economic development. USDA Rural Development’s Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan Program has authorized $144 million for 54 rural businesses in America to help the economy recover and put people back to work. Following are the details of two rural Nevada businesses receiving the loan guarantee: · $350,000 -- A.C.E., LLC: These rural development funds will be used to purchase four turbines that will be used by Homestretch Geothermal for their geothermal energy producing plant in Lyon County. · $518,000 -- T & N Properties, LLC and Leading Technology Development, LLC: the funding from this loan will be used to provide long term financing to finish the construction of a new Family Dollar Store in Battle Mountain. “I thank USDA for making these loan guarantees available to businesses in rural Nevada,” Reid said. “These funds will help our state’s economy recover while putting Nevadans back to work on projects that will provide important services to our rural communities and make Nevada a leader in clean energy.”
