Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid today released the following statement after the Obama Administration announced it would speed up permitting and construction of power lines in Nevada and other Western states, creating thousands of jobs:

“This announcement means that Nevada and the nation will be able to move forward more quickly to develop our vast renewable energy resources and get that clean power to market.  Rebuilding and modernizing our energy infrastructure will create thousands of American jobs and improve our security and competitiveness.   I commend the Obama Administration for expediting work on these critical transmission lines.”
