Reid Statement On The Loss Of The Sikh Temple In Reno

May 13, 2010

Washington, D.C.—Nevada Senator Harry Reid today released the following statement to express his sympathy to the Sikh community in Reno whose temple was destroyed by a fire earlier this week.

“I was saddened to hear about the fire that destroyed the temple, holy books and library of the Northern Nevada Sikh Society. I appreciate the work of Reno’s first responders to put out the fire and investigate its cause,” said Reid.  “A place of worship is also a home.  It is a place for the community to come together as one.  I offer my condolences and support for Reno’s Sikh community as they mourn the loss of their temple and begin to rebuild.”
