August 5, 2010

Washington, D.C. -- Nevada Senator Harry Reid today announced more than $3 million from the Department of Justice to help stop gang violence, enhance crime-fighting capabilities, and prevent and treat drug use in Nevada.  The Department of Justice has awarded the funds, which total $3,363,907, to the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

“This vital public safety funding will help Nevada’s law enforcement officers prevent gang violence, drug use, and other crimes that put Nevadans at risk,” Reid said.  “Through intervention programs, improved planning and evaluation, and technology upgrades, Nevadans will become safer as a result of this award.”
