Funds will create jobs installing new high quality day-time lighting October 13, 2009 Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced more than $750,000 is headed to the Clark County School District for installing new solar technology that will provide high quality day-time lighting. The new lighting system will provide natural light without generating any heat, which saves on air conditioning costs. Electricity bills will also drop because artificial lighting accounts for about one-quarter of the total energy consumed in an average commercial building.
