Washington, DC –Nevada Senator Harry Reid today issued the following statement in celebration of Nevada Day:

“I join my fellow Nevadans in celebrating the 147th anniversary of Nevada’s statehood.  We are unlike any other state in how we celebrate Nevada’s admittance into the union, and this year’s ‘Nevada’s Great Outdoors’ theme is particularly fitting given that Nevada boasts some of the most rugged and diverse landscapes in the country.

“While Nevada faces many challenges today, we have repeatedly overcome obstacles and become a stronger state each time over the last century-and-a-half.  I will continue doing everything I can as the Battle Born state’s senior Senator and the Majority Leader to create jobs and turn our economy around so that we can continue to thrive as a state.”
