Washington, D.C. ---Nevada Senator Harry Reid today made the following statement for the one-year anniversary of the USO Lounge opening at McCarran Airport this week: 
 
“Hundreds of thousands of service members and their families travelling through McCarran Airport each year now have a comfortable place to rest,” Reid said.  “I’ve worked with the USO since 2007 to designate and create the space at McCarran because our military heroes deserve the very best.  We all must support our brave men and women in uniform at every turn because of the sacrifices they make for us each day.”
 

BACKGROUND

Reid toured the USO lounge as it neared completion in August 2010. 

In January 2010, Reid met with USO President and Chief Executive Officer Sloan Gibson and announced that a new USO lounge would open at McCarran Airport as a result of their partnership.
